England’s young middle-order batter Harry Brook has been phenomenal for his team in the longest format of the game. He is also doing decent in the ongoing iconic Ashes 2023 series. Brook’s tremendous performance in his international career so far helped to get his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) contract at whopping amount of INR 13.25 crore.

However, he couldn’t perform well in his debut IPL season as apart from a century he was nothing but a huge failure. Meanwhile, Brook recently addressed the media where he was asked about if the ongoing Ashes series is the most stressful and exhausting series for him or not. But Brook believes that IPL was more tough for him as it was tiring both mentally and physically.

“It’s a good question. It’s probably second. The IPL was pretty tough to be fair both mentally and physically. It has been tough but we obviously had that 10 days, a week or so off. I managed to go on holiday. “ Brook was quoted as saying by Cricket Addictor.

If I am just trying to survive I am pretty useless: Harry Brook

Brook was brilliant in the first innings of the final Ashes 2023 Test where he played a 85-run knock which included 11 fours and 2 sixes. Despite losing 3 wickets on the score 73 runs, Brook batted aggressively and dealt with boundaries only most of the times during his knock. He missed his well-deserved century by just 15 runs but he believes that scoring quick help them to soak the pressure.

“I know it looks madness when we are out there and scoring quick but we have always had little moments where we have had to rein it in and soak up pressure [against Australia]. I do look to score, if I am just trying to survive I am pretty useless!” Brook was quoted as saying by India Today.
