Pakistan suffered a huge blow after their premium fast bowler Naseem Shah injured himself during the recently concluded Asia Cup. Naseem was bowling really well in the tournament but unfortunately in a contest against India, he got his shoulder injured and got ruled out of the tournament.

It is now being heard that Naseem will also be sidelined for the entire ODI World Cup 2023 due to injury. Meanwhile, former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has lashed out at the Pakistan skipper and team management. He took to the social media platform, ‘X’, and said that the management should’ve known that Sri Lanka is a hot and humid place due to which the fast bowlers get tired fast.

“Why did Pakistan management and selectors didn’t know Sri Lanka is humid and hot out fast bowlers need rest and fresh to go hard in the tournament bloody dum Captain and selection that’s why we rout of finals idiots treat our gem like precious.” Kaneria tweeted.

Who will replace Naseem Shah in the ODI World Cup 2023?

The Men in Green suffered an embarrassing 228-run loss to India in a Super Fours clash in the Asia Cup 2023. However, that wasn’t enough for them as they lost another match in the Super Fours stage which came against Sri Lanka. The loss also meant their elimination from the tournament.

Asia Cup 2023 was a major disappointment for the Pakistan team as they didn’t just perform very poorly but also suffered some setbacks after their key players Naseem, Haris Rauf and Salman Agha got injured. Interestingly, all three players got injured against the Indian team.

Pakistan haven’t announced their squad for the upcoming World Cup. It would be interesting to see who will replace Naseem in the squad. However, a few names like Shahnawaz Dahani and Mohammad Wasim Jr. are likely to get included in the squad. But Naseem’s absence will definitely be felt by the team as he has the ability to take crucial wickets at any stage of the game.
