Mallika Sherawat claims Deepika Padukone copied her!

Actress Mallika Sherawat is in the news again.

She is all set to return to tinsel town with her new film RK/RKay.

RK/RKay will hit cinema halls on July 22.

It’s written and directed by Rajat Kapoor.

The film also stars Kubbra Sait, Ranvir Shorey and Manu Rishi Chadha in key roles.

One of the hottest actresses to grace the screens in the early 2000s, she became a cult figure with the release of Anurag Basu’s romantic thriller Murder.

The film co-starred Emraan Hashmi with whom she shared many kissing and love-making scenes.

The film went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.

Despite her sexy image, Mallika has always been unapologetic about her choice of roles.

She even said that even though women were nasty to her and resented her success, Indian men always loved her.

In a recent interview, she said, “I think my glamour was overwhelming for women. I am unapologetic about it.”

“I wore a bikini in murder and actresses have worn bikini before me also but I was so nonchalant about it.”

“I was like I have a great body. Do you want me to wear a saree at the beach? No, I will wear a bikini and I celebrated my body because for me that was very liberating for me.”

The actress who also starred in ‘Welcome’ said, “I was also mentally tortured by a section of the industry at the time of Murder. People said all kinds of things about the kiss and the bikini. I worked in Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Welcome, but none talked about my acting.”

But it’s clear that Mallika sees herself as a trend-setter.

“What Deepika Padukone did in Gehraiyaan, I did that 15 years ago, but people were too narrow-minded back then.”

Welcome back Mallika, we look forward to you new film!
