Asia Cup 2023 is set to be kicked off on August 30 when Pakistan will play the tournament opener against Nepal at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. Interestingly the tournament is co-hosted by both Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board announced an 18-member squad of the Pakistan Cricket team for the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan. However, it will be trimmed to a 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup. Saud Shakeel won’t be playing in the Asia Cup and will return home after the Afghanistan series.

Babar Azam will be leading the side in Asia Cup while star allrounder Shadab Khan is named the vice-captain of the team. Interestingly, PCB included Faheem Ashraf in the squad, who was last seen in an ODI match in 2021. Shan Masood failed to get a place in the squad after his horrible performance in the recent ODI series against New Zealand.
