There has been a set pattern, where Virat Kohli is coming at No.3 and making good contributions

Suryakumar Yadav came in at No.4 to accelerate the innings

He has shown a much greater capability to accelerate the innings than Kohli right now

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir feels India should let Suryakumar bat at No.3 till the T20 World Cup

“The reason is that you don’t fiddle with someone’s form, just because you want someone else to get back in form.”

“He was unbelievable in England when everyone struggled, was brilliant in the West Indies as well. He’s 30 as well.”

“Virat Kohli, he has got so much experience, he can still come and bat at No.4, depending on the situation as well.”

Yadav scored an unbeaten 68 off just 24 deliveries to help India through to the 2022 Asia Cup’s Super Four stage.

Suryakumar came to the crease with the score at 94/2 in 13 overs. He was able to give the team a lot of momentum.

He is currently ranked No.3 in ICC T20 Rankings and will be an important member of Team India heading into T20 World Cup
