RCB set to go all out for Mitchell Starc?

Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday paid INR 18.5 Crores for Australian pacer Mitchell Starc. The 34-year-old has played IPL for RCB during the 2014 and 2015 seasons before skipping the league for international commitments.

Parthiv Patel and Gujarat Titans paid INR 18 Crores during the mock auctions on Monday. Harry Brook and Pat Cummins were also bought for a huge sum of money. Shardul Thakur was picked up by his former team Punjab Kings.

Former Australian skipper Steve Smith interestingly went unsold during the mock auctions on Monday. The exercise was to gauge how the teams were shaping up with their preparedness. All the ten teams now will meet for the big event on Tuesday with 333 players on offer. Mumbai Indians meanwhile are facing heat on social media. There has been a drastic drop in the numbers on Instagram and Twitter for the five-time champions. Rohit Sharma and his camp are yet to comment on the entire developments which took place last week.

Gujarat Titans have the biggest purse left thanks to their all-cash trade deal with Mumbai Indians for Hardik Pandya. There is expected to be a mad scramble to sign uncapped Indian players as well.
