‘Yeh toh out of budget hoga RCB ke liye’ – Fans exclaim after RCB buy Mitchell Starc for INR 18.5 Crores during IPL Mock Auction
With just under 24 hours left for IPL Auction 2024 there was a mock auction held on Monday. One of the big takeaways from the exercise was how much Royal Challengers Bangalore were ready to pay for Mitchell Starc.
The Australian pacer got a whopping INR 18.5 Crore bid from the RCB team. Players like Gerald Coetzee, Pat Cummins, Harry Brook, and Shardul Thakur were also part of the exercise. On Tuesday 333 players will be hotly contested for during the IPL Mini Auctions 2024 in Dubai. Travis Head will be one of the biggest names up for grabs for the IPL 2024 season. Gujarat Titans have the largest purse as the ten teams sit across the table on Tuesday.
RCB set to go all out for Mitchell Starc?
Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday paid INR 18.5 Crores for Australian pacer Mitchell Starc. The 34-year-old has played IPL for RCB during the 2014 and 2015 seasons before skipping the league for international commitments.
Parthiv Patel and Gujarat Titans paid INR 18 Crores during the mock auctions on Monday. Harry Brook and Pat Cummins were also bought for a huge sum of money. Shardul Thakur was picked up by his former team Punjab Kings.
Former Australian skipper Steve Smith interestingly went unsold during the mock auctions on Monday. The exercise was to gauge how the teams were shaping up with their preparedness. All the ten teams now will meet for the big event on Tuesday with 333 players on offer. Mumbai Indians meanwhile are facing heat on social media. There has been a drastic drop in the numbers on Instagram and Twitter for the five-time champions. Rohit Sharma and his camp are yet to comment on the entire developments which took place last week.
Gujarat Titans have the biggest purse left thanks to their all-cash trade deal with Mumbai Indians for Hardik Pandya. There is expected to be a mad scramble to sign uncapped Indian players as well. Sarfaraz Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Kartik Tyagi are a few of the names that are set to get huge bids during the course of the big day on Tuesday.
