‘Ye sabko maloom tha’ – Fans troll Pakistani media as Jay Shah refutes reports of him visiting Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023
Indian Cricket Board secretary and ACC president, Jay Shah have refuted the reports of him visiting Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023. Recently, it was reported that after the change of chairperson in the PCB, Shah might visit his neighboring country for the tournament. However, in an interview, the Indian Cricket Board secretary refuted the reports.
Apparently, the Men In Blue won’t play a single game in Pakistan due to non-permission from the government. All their games will be played in Sri Lanka.
“I have not agreed to anything. This is just plain miscommunication. Probably done deliberately or mischievously. I’ll not be making any visit,” Jay Shah told News18 CricketNext on Wednesday, July 12 morning.
IPL governing council member and Indian board’s representative in the Apex Council, Arun Dhumal also echoed Shah’s verdict.
“Whatever the reports, they’re completely false,” Dhumal told News18 CricketNext.
On the other hand, an Indian Board source said that the likes of Shah and PCB chief Zaka Ashraf met for Asia Cup and World Cup in India. He added that the hybrid model arrangements continues to be in place.
“Unless this is for mischievous reasons. The two met and discussed the Asia Cup and World Cup in India later this year but that was it. Asia Cup hybrid arrangement remains in place where Pakistan will host some games and Sri Lanka hosts majority of the tournament because Pakistan kept insisting on it,” said the source.
Notably, the decision regarding the Hybrid model was taken when Najam Sethi was the chair of PCB. He did so to accommodate the Indian team as they couldn’t travel to Pakistan. Even Ashraf has stated that the board will honor the commitment.

Andy Roberts Declares Mohammed Shami as India’s Best Bowler
West Indies cricket legend Andy Roberts has lauded Mohammed Shami as India’s most skilled pacer, emphasizing his superiority in effectiveness and consistency over others, including Jasprit Bumrah. While acknowledging Bumrah’s ability to claim crucial wickets, Roberts expressed that Shami’s control, seam positioning, and adaptability under diverse conditions set him apart.
Roberts critiqued Mohammed Siraj, stating he has yet to reach the same level as Bumrah and Shami. He highlighted that Shami’s ability to relentlessly hit good lengths and extract movement makes him India’s standout bowler. He urged Indian cricket to focus more on nurturing such talent for long-term success in international cricket.
Roberts’ observations offer a fresh perspective on India’s pace attack dynamics, sparking debates among cricket fans worldwide.
