Manoj Tiwary blames IPL for change in mindset of younger cricketers
Manoj Tiwary has made a huge claim on the mindset of the youngster. The former India cricketer recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket and has been talking a lot about the game since then. His statements have set the social media on fire and the fans have mixed opinions. One such statement has been the priorities of the younger players.
The former Indian player claimed that the IPL has changed the mindset of the youngsters. He claimed that the players today often go to Dubai and other places when they are not in the Indian squad. He added that it has reduced the significance of the domestic tournaments. The statement from Tiwary came following the statement of Jay Shah regarding the warning for players.
“I can observe that young players have adopted an IPL-centric mindset. Those who don’t play IPL often go to Dubai or other places whenever they find some free time,” said Tiwary. He felt that a post that he made on X reached the headquarters and led to the Indian secretary taking a serious step on those who skipped playing the Ranji Trophy in recent times.
Trend is diminishing the significance of the prestigious Ranji Trophy – Manoj Tiwary
Manoj felt that the diminishing stature of the Ranji Trophy has led to the changing mindset of the players. While Tiwary claimed the IPL to be a huge platform for the players, he added that the importance of the Ranji Trophy needs to increase. He asked Jay Shah and other heads of the Indian Cricket Board to take steps towards increasing the significance of domestic cricket.
“However, this trend is diminishing the significance of the prestigious Ranji Trophy. IPL is a massive platform for all of us, but I also request the BCCI president and secretary to increase the significance of the Ranji Trophy,” added Tiwary in his statement. Some players did not care about taking part in the Ranji Trophy recently despite being fit to play. Jay Shah was angry with the motives of such players.

Mohammad Rizwan Faces Backlash for Underwhelming Knock in Pakistan’s Loss to South Africa
Mohammad Rizwan has come under heavy fire for his performance during Pakistan’s loss to South Africa in a high-stakes match. Critics described his innings as lackluster, accusing him of playing a “shameless” and “criminal” knock that failed to meet the demands of the situation. His inability to accelerate scoring when required drew ire from fans and analysts alike, with many questioning his intent and decision-making under pressure.
While Rizwan’s cautious approach ensured some stability, it proved inadequate against South Africa’s aggressive game plan. His inability to shift gears in critical moments ultimately hurt Pakistan’s chances, and his performance sparked a broader debate about his role and strategy in the team’s batting order. Some commentators were particularly scathing, questioning how Rizwan could reflect on his effort given the circumstances.
The incident has added to the scrutiny of Pakistan’s overall performance in the tournament, with many demanding better strategies and execution from key players. Rizwan, regarded as a pivotal figure in the lineup, now faces the challenge of responding to the criticism and delivering under pressure in future matches.
