WATCH: Keiron Pollard turns back clock as he plunders 27 runs against Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 2024
Former West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard turned back the clock in the PSL 2024 game against Peshawar Zalmi. Playing for Karachi Kings, he hit 27 runs against Afghanistan international, Noor Ahmed in the 15th over of the second innings. At the time, the Kings needed 45 off 36 balls to win their first game of the season. Meanwhile, in the over, Pollard hit three sixes and two fours.

Talking about the game, the 2020 winners, the Kings won the toss and elected to field first in the day game. Former Pakistan international Shoaib Malik removed Saim Ayub to start the game. The likes of Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Mohammad Haris failed to cross the double-digit mark. At 40/3, skipper Babar Azam and Rovman Powell put together 68 runs with the former scoring a fifty against his previous team.
They were 136/4 with Azam and Asif Ali batting at the crease till the 16th over. In the last four overs, the team lost six wickets for just 18 runs. With this, the 2017 winners were bowled out for 154 runs. In reply, the Blue Brigade didn’t have the best of starts as they lost two wickets for 40 runs. However, Mohammad Akhlaq scored a quick 24 to keep the team ahead in the chase. Malik scored a run-a-ball 29. With 91/3 on the board, England international, James Vince (38*) stayed till the end while Pollard finished the game early with 49 off 21 balls. They ended up winning the game by seven wickets and 3.1 overs to spare.

The 2012 T20 World Cup winner announced his retirement from international cricket two years back. Ahead of the IPL 2023, he retired from the league and became the batting coach of Mumbai Indians. However, he continues to represent MI Emirates (ILT20), MI New York (MLC), Trinbago Knight Riders (CPL), and Karachi Kings (PSL) up until now.

Karnali Yaks posted 128/7 in 20 overs against Lumbini Lions in their Nepal Premier League clash. Contributions from the middle order, especially Sharad Vesawkar (30 runs) and Sunil Dhamala (25 runs), helped stabilize the innings after a shaky start. Lumbini Lions bowlers, led by Sompal Kami and Lalit Rajbanshi, kept Karnali’s scoring in check with disciplined bowling.
The Lions now face a manageable chase to secure their second win of the season.

Kathmandu Gurkhas Set Modest Target for Janakpur Bolts in NPL
Kathmandu Gurkhas, after opting to bat first, set Janakpur Bolts a modest target of 102 runs in their ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) match. Kathmandu’s innings ended at 101/10 in 19.3 overs. They struggled throughout, with only Gerhard Erasmus (20) and Stephen Eskinazi (17) offering resistance. The rest of the batting line-up faltered, with notable contributions from Karan KC (19) and Shahab Alam (8*).
Janakpur’s bowlers dominated, with Lalit Rajbanshi and Sher Malla both taking three wickets each, while Mohammad Mohsin added two. The Bolts are now tasked with chasing a relatively low total to secure the win.
