Rohit Sharma looks timid in net session, a net bowler dismisses him twice!

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has faced a shocker in the net session ahead of the third Test against England. In the third Test against England, Rajkot rolled out a flat track, as per the norm of the curators. India needs Rohit to be at his best in the match given the nature of the wicket and the context of the series. The Indian skipper has been in poor form with the bat.

In the series against South Africa, Sharma was not able to step up as a batter. In the ongoing series against England, Rohit has not been able to score enough runs despite the wickets not being that difficult to bat on. The scores of the Indian opener in the series have been 24, 39, 14, and 13 respectively. Let alone registering a 3-digit mark, Rohit has not been able to score even a fifty.

The star batter is lacking runs in the longest format of the game. In the practice session ahead of the third Test, the Indian skipper was seen talking to some of the inexperienced batters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, and Shubman Gill. Sharma faced an embarrassment by a net bowler who dismissed him twice in a row in the net session.

Rohit Sharma’s batting form is a concern for India

In the first ball, the pacer cleaned up the Indian star batter and followed it up with a brilliant ball. The 2nd ball caught the edge of the star batter’s willow and was caught behind. The observers noted down that the Indian skipper was not at his best touch. It has been a huge concern for India for some time and ahead of the third Test against England at Rajkot.

India is likely to make a lot of changes for the third Test. While KL Rahul might take some time to make his return to the side, Ravindra Jadeja might feature in the playing XI. Sarfaraz Khan is likely to get his Test cap along with Dhruv Jurel. Mohammad Siraj might also be in the team at Rajkot.

Mohammad Rizwan has come under heavy fire for his performance during Pakistan’s loss to South Africa in a high-stakes match. His inability to accelerate scoring when required drew ire from fans and analysts alike, with many questioning his intent and decision-making under pressure.

While Rizwan’s cautious approach ensured some stability, it proved inadequate against South Africa’s aggressive game plan. His inability to shift gears in critical moments ultimately hurt Pakistan’s chances, and his performance sparked a broader debate about his role and strategy in the team’s batting order. Some commentators were particularly scathing, questioning how Rizwan could reflect on his effort given the circumstances.

The incident has added to the scrutiny of Pakistan’s overall performance in the tournament, with many demanding better strategies and execution from key players.
