Indian bowlers were at the receiving end during the 5th and the final match of the 5-match T20I series against West Indies at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida on Sunday, August 13. The Caribbean side defeated the Men in Blue in the series decider match by 8 wickets.

Meanwhile, Windies’ veteran and destructive wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran shared an image of him on his social media handle. In the picture, Pooran can be seen flexing the bruises he got after he got hit by a delivery from Arshdeep Singh and a blow from his own teammate Brandon King. Fans have reacted to the image and have lauded him for playing a great knock even after being in pain.

Pooran batted brilliantly and continued his brilliance throughout the series. He has always delivered whenever the team needed a great knock from him. However, Pooran also took the comments made by Indian skipper Hardik Pandya on him seriously as he smashed Pandya for a few sixes in the series decider. Take a look at Pandya’s take on Pooran before the 5th ODI.

“Yeah, if Nicky wants to hit, let him hit me; that was the plan. I enjoy that kind of competition where I know I cannot err in line or length a lot as it gives the advantage to Nicky. In the fourth game, I hope he comes very hard at me and gives me a wicket as well.”

Brilliant batting performance by West Indies

Talking about the match, India won the toss and elected to bat first but the Indian batters failed to produce a great batting performance as they were restricted on the score of just 165 runs. The no. 1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav was the only batter who looked confident as he scored 65 runs which included 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Chasing the target, Windies lost Kyle Mayers early in the innings but Pooran and King took the things on their shoulders and helped the team to chase the target with 12 balls to spare. King remained unbeaten on 85 runs which included 5 fours and 6 sixes.
