Mumbai Indians are getting ready for the upcoming IPL 2024 auctions in Dubai. On the 19th of December, ten teams will bid for the best from the 590 players who have been shortlisted. Five-time winners Mumbai Indians have already made the biggest splash by signing Hardik Pandya in a trade with Gujarat Titans.

Ahead of the huge IPL 2024 Auctions, yet another former Mumbai Indians player has stated his desire to make a comeback to the team. With INR 17.75 Crores there is huge speculation on who the men in blue and gold may sign during the IPL 2024 auctions.

Former Mumbai Indians player states desire to return-

Mitchell McClenaghan the former Mumbai Indians fast bowler has come up with a huge statement. The former Kiwi pacer has hinted that he wants to make a return to his former franchise in the capacity of a coach.

Aged just 37, Mitchell McClenaghan is playing in the Legend League Cricket 2023. Speaking to Hindustan Times, the former pacer said “Currently I am going through my coaching courses, trying to learn more about that side of the game because it’s a sport that I enjoy and a sport that I would like to be involved in going forward. So who knows whether that goes locally back home or globally within the T20 circuit? I mean, MI would be a goal of mine to reunite with that franchise, for sure,”

The former Mumbai Indians pacer also showed sympathy towards Rohit Sharma after losing in the ODI World Cup 2023 final. “I feel awful for Rohit in particular because I know how much preparation he puts into tournaments, and I know this would have been a big trophy for him to tick off. So from that point of view, I do place my heart, I feel, for how he didn’t get the result that he would have wanted and what he probably deserved with how he has turned Indian cricket around in the last couple of years.”

Mitchell McClenaghan has played 56 games in the IPL and picked 71 wickets. His last game was the IPL 2019 final against Chennai Super Kings which saw Mumbai win the title for the 3rd time by 1 run.
