Since the time of MS Dhoni’s retirement, India needed a finisher who can stay till the end. In Rinku Singh, the men in blue seem to have a treasure and a huge trick up their sleeve. With the T20 World Cup just a few months away the time is right for Rinku Singh to set the record straight.

In the first two games of the ongoing T20 series between India and Australia, Rinku Singh has already played two innings of high impact. Many fans are now trying to hype up the youngster and compare with MS Dhoni. But is the hype real? Or are we jumping the gun too quickly?

India needs to look after Rinku Singh –

In the 7 games that Rinku Singh has played for India, he has scored 128 runs with an average of 128. His strike rate is mind-blowing 216.95 with 12 fours and 9 sixes. This would make one wonder why cannot we call him the next MS Dhoni.

At 26-years-old MS Dhoni was already a well-known power hitter and was the captain of the T20 World Cup winning side. The case with Rinku Singh is different, the youngster is new in international cricket.

Rinku Singh is enjoying what people call a honeymoon period where everything seems rosy and looks to be going your way. There is also one fact that cannot go unnoticed, MS Dhoni already had played some of the toughest bowlers in the world by the age of 26.

There is no denying the fact that Rinku Singh has all it takes to become one of the best finishers in the world. The fans must also know that bad performances too are around the corner. Once the bowlers figure him out, Rinku Singh will have to change the way he plays and approaches the game.

If the youngster can get over those inevitable challenges and moments of heartbreak, Rinku Singh will be on the right path. Maybe ten years down the line, the Indian fans will be comparing another young batter but this time to Rinku Singh.
