India vs Pakistan in Asia Cup

As rain halted the India vs. Pakistan Super Four game of the Asia Cup 2023 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, fans are eagerly waiting for its restart. The match will start on Monday at 3 p.m. local time, as there is a reserve day for the game. However, rain is still looking to play spoilsport, as there are 80 per cent chance of rain during the match.

According to recent weather forecasts, Colombo will face a thunderstorm after 5 p.m., with humidity at 85 per cent throughout the day. This weather forecast has troubled fans, as this is a crucial game for both India and Pakistan. If the weather doesn’t allow us to complete a 20-over per side game on Monday too, then the match will be abandoned with no results. This will give both India and Pakistan one point. It’s worth noting that to get a result, a 20-over per side game is mandatory.

Notably, the Indian team will look to keep themselves in the game after a brilliant start. India is currently batting with 142 runs on board in 24.1 overs. Star batter Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper KL Rahul are in the middle. However, both will need to rebuild their innings on Monday after an overnight break in the game. Earlier in the match, India’s Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored half-centuries.

How will Indian players be fresh for the rest of the tournament?

This Asia Cup is undoubtedly one of the most irritating and frustrating tournaments in the history of the game. After a lot of travelling during the group stage, now rain is playing spoilsport in the event. Meanwhile, the Indian team will be looking to keep their players fresh ahead of the upcoming ODI World Cup. The seven-time Asian champions will be playing two back-to-back games on Monday and Tuesday.

As the match went into reserve day, the team will face arch-rival Pakistan on Monday for a maximum of 75 overs. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the team will face defending champion Sri Lanka in a high-pressure game at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Both of the games are important for the Indian team, as they will need to win them to stay alive in the tournament.
