Arjun Kapoor speaks up on the ongoing Boycott culture in Bollywood and says, “Ab zyada hone Laga hai” about both Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan suffering at cinemas because of the same.

Arjun Kapoor who was last seen in Ek Villain Returns and was praised for his performance in the same is not happy with cancel culture.

According to him, Bollywood has made a ‘mistake’ by remaining ‘silent’ on the entire boycott scenario and people have started taking advantage of Bollywood’s ‘decency’.

Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan both did not fare well at the box office and
iIt was expected that the long weekend along with the national holiday might do some good but unfortunately, it didn’t because of the boycott trends which followed both the films even before release.
Arjun Kapoor in his interview with Bollywood Hungama said that Bollywood made a mistake in thinking that ‘our work will speak for ourselves.’ In reaction to the boycott culture, he chimed in that Bollywood ‘tolerated it a lot and now people have made this a habit.’
According to him, trolls against Bollywood and actors or hashtags used against them are all far from reality.
He also added that if a film does good at the box office and the actor gets appreciated it’s because of engaging content and not someone’s ‘surname’.
He finally stated that “Ab Zyada Hone Laga Hai…unfair hai” (This is happening a lot, this is unfair)
Arjun acknowledged that the ‘Euphoria’ for a film, the ‘Excitement’ for an upcoming release among the viewers, and the ‘Shine of the Industry’ is getting hampered due to this boycott or cancel culture.
Brahmastra and Vikram Vedha are the recent targets of the boycott campaign. We can only hope they don’t meet the same fate as Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan.
