RCB

RCB is known for its popularity on social media. Despite not winning a Trophy to date, RCB remains a franchise that is followed by millions of people on different platforms. A perfect example of it has been the latest report which has suggested it to be the most followed sports side from Asia on Instagram for December 2023, surpassing some top sports teams.

RCB has surpassed Al Nassr, the Football team from the Saudi League for which Cristiano Ronaldo is playing. At the same time, RCB has also surpassed some of its fellow IPL teams like Mumbai Indians and CSK, both of whom are the joint teams with the greatest number of IPL titles. Both the champion teams have an immense following on social media and in real life.

As a surprising entry, Kerala Blasters FC from the ISL has taken the fifth position in the list, given how well the side has been playing in the ongoing edition of the biggest Football league in India. Four of the top five teams in the list belong to India. Three of them are teams from the IPL. It shows how people have embraced Cricket and Football in the country.

Social media numbers of the fan following

In December 2023, RCB had an interaction of a total of 92.8 million on Instagram, which is mammoth. the second best on the list is Al Nassr, who had a total interaction of 91 million on Instagram in December 2023. The two teams separate themselves from the rest in the list. MI and CSK are way behind in the numbers.

CSK have a total interaction of 67.6 million on Instagram. Mumbai Indians on the other hand have a total interaction of 45.2 million in December 2023, which is a bit less considering everything that the franchise has gone through in the last couple of months. Kerala Blasters have a total interaction of 26.3 million, which is huge given the fact that ISL as a league itself is not followed on a huge scale.
