Meanwhile, New Zealand has a huge lead in the ongoing Test match against SA. After scoring 511 runs in the 1st innings, the home side dismissed an inexperienced side for just 162 runs, thereby getting a huge lead of 349 runs. Despite getting an opportunity to enforce follow-on, Kane decided to bat before the wicket could get worse for batting.

Kane Williamson shines with the bat for New Zealand

Rachin Ravindra scored 240 with the bat and shined in the 1st innings. Kiwi bowlers were collectively brilliant as Matt Henry and Mitchell Santner claimed three wickets each. Kyle Jamieson and Rachin Ravindra claimed two wickets each. In the 2nd innings, NZ ended the 3rd day on a good note with a score of 179/4. It was Kane himself who shined with the bat for New Zealand.

In the first innings, Kane scored 118 runs in 289 balls and acted as an anchor to Rachin. In the 2nd innings, Kane took the aggressive route and scored 109(132). It was the first instance of Williamson scoring twin hundreds in a Test match. In the process, the Kiwi skipper became only the fifth batter from his country to score two hundred in a Test match. NZ would be hoping to dominate the game from here.
