Pakistan is currently in Australia for a three-match Test series, starting on December 14 in Perth. In recent times, the Green Brigade has faced a lot of heat, thanks to their poor performance in the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup this year. Ahead of the three-match series, the heat is on the Asian side as they have yet to win a Test series Down Under and a Test match since 1994.

Meanwhile, ahead of the game, former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed seems to have a heated moment with his teammate Saud Shakeel. Both players come from the same region, Karachi. Meanwhile, in a video, the Champions Trophy 2017 winning captain seems to have given a task to Shakeel which the latter didn’t do it.

Sarfaraz Ahmed might play as a wicketkeeper ahead of Mohammad Rizwan

Pakistan’s newly-appointed Test captain Shan Masood has hinted that former skipper Ahmed might play as a wicketkeeper in the first Test in Perth.

“About the wicketkeeper-batter, you see, Sarfaraz returned to the side and became the Player of the Series. Unfortunately, he suffered a concussion after one Test in Sri Lanka. In domestic cricket, he has been one of the best batters,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

“Sarfaraz made runs [here] in 2016, Rizwan did so in 2019. But we will look at the conditions and then decide. One might have to play as a batter. But as I said, at first we will look at the conditions.”

Pakistan squad for Australia Tests: Shan Masood (captain), Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk), Saud Shakeel and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
