WATCH: New Zealand DJ mocks Azam Khan by playing Big Show’s WWE theme
Azam Khan is noted as former skipper Moin Khan’s son. The youngster has been in the news for his weight and many have questioned him in this regard. During the third T20I versus New Zealand in Dunedin the local DJ decided to mock the batter.
While Azam Khan was coming out to bat, the DJ in question played the Big Show’s theme song. This did not sit down well with many of the fans who were left unimpressed with this move.
Hahahaha previously crowd used to wear ghost attire to tease Haris sohail. Now they are putting up Big Show music on Azam Khan's entrance.
Kiwis are not that nicee 🤣🤣🤣#PAKvsNZ #AzamKhan pic.twitter.com/ANOAStGpGW— Zeeshan Khalid (@izeekayy) January 17, 2024
Fans have taken to social media and roundly called out the DJ for body-shaming the Pakistani batter. Even many of the Pakistani-known voices on the social media platform have vented their ire.
Will the local DJ face any legal action from the New Zealand Board?
New Zealand has always been known to be a great cricket host. Azam Khan and his fans though were left with a bitter taste in their mouths when the Big Show’s music hit. During his stint with the WWE, Big Show was a huge performer.
Paul Wight is currently with All Elite Wrestling and has been with the company for the last four years. During his nearly three-decade-long wrestling career, Paul Wight has been seen in different body avatars.
This is not the first time Azam Khan has had to face ridicule and mocking over his weight. Many of the experts have questioned the 25-year-old about his fitness and ability on many occasions.
Azam Khan so far has played all three games during this tour of New Zealand and scored 22 runs. It is really a bad run of form for the right-handed batter who is known to be a big hitter of the ball.
Pakistan chasing 225 to win were bowled out for 179 with Babar Azam top scoring 58 runs. This loss has given the worst possible start to Shaheen Shah Afridi to his captaincy career in the shortest format.
With two games left to play, one hopes that Pakistan fans will pull up their socks. After the disastrous 3-0 hammering in Australia, the last thing the Pakistani fans will hope is for yet another whitewash.
After the PSL the men in green will wait for June as they take part in the 2024 T20 World Cup. On June 9th, Pakistan will take on India in New York in what is the biggest clash of the tournament this year.

Australian Media Criticizes Rohit Sharma After Crushing Defeat to Australia
Following India’s heavy loss to Australia in the first Test of the series, Australian media highlighted key concerns for the Indian team, including Rohit Sharma’s performance as captain. Pat Cummins and his team’s emphatic win by 209 runs sparked discussions about India’s bowling strategy and batting collapse.
Australian newspapers like The Age underscored Mitchell Starc’s lethal bowling display as a stark reminder of his prowess in Test cricket. Starc’s fiery spell dismantled India’s top order, a performance seen as pivotal in Australia’s dominant victory. The media also pointed out the pressure mounting on Rohit Sharma for tactical shortcomings, including field placements and decision-making under challenging circumstances.
India’s batting lineup faltered against Australia’s aggressive bowling, with only a few players resisting. Critics emphasized that the Indian team’s inability to adapt to the pink-ball conditions in Adelaide cost them dearly. The media also praised Australia for its disciplined approach, particularly the consistency of its pace attack, which Starc and Cummins led.
As the series progresses, this defeat puts India under immense pressure to bounce back, especially with the spotlight on Rohit Sharma’s leadership and the team’s resilience. Fans now await India’s response in the next Test.
