India left out Mohammad Siraj from the 2nd Test against England. In the Vizag Test, Mukesh Kumar has got an opportunity to play in the place of Siraj. The Indian Cricket Board confirmed the same by taking to X. It was revealed that the star pacer was released from the Indian squad ahead of the 2nd Test.

“UPDATE: Mr Mohammad Siraj has been released from the India squad for the second Test against England in Vizag,” wrote the Indian Cricket Board in their statement. In their statement, the Indian Cricket Board revealed the reason behind their move to rest Siraj in the 2nd Test.

It was claimed that Siraj was excluded from the 2nd Test at Vizag as the right-arm pacer had played a lot of series in the last year or so. “The decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and the amount of cricket he has played in recent times,” added the Indian Cricket Board in their statement.

Avesh Khan joins India’s squad for 2nd Test

It was further revealed that the right-arm pacer would be available for selection in the 3rd test against England which is set to take place at Rajkot. Indian Cricket Board confirmed the same in their statement. “He will be available for selection for the third Test in Rajkot,” the Indian Cricket Board claimed in their statement.

To conclude their statement, the Indian Cricket Board revealed major news. It was added that Avesh Khan has joined the Indian squad yet again for the 2nd Test. It was not sure if the pacer was in the squad or not. Indian management cleared the air on the same with their statement. “Avesh Khan has re-joined the team for the 2nd Test,” the statement concluded.

It is interesting to note that Siraj has been playing cricket without getting enough rest for a long time. Right from the Asia Cup 2023, Siraj has been playing the maximum number of games for India. The star pacer has not gotten enough rest since then.
