South Africa continued their dominance on the Pink day.

They took the revenge of the 1st ODI from Bangladesh by convincingly defeating them by 7 wickets.

Kagiso Rabada was the star with the bowl for South Africa as he picked up a brilliant 5-for to restrict Bangladesh on only 194 runs in their 50 overs.

The half of the Bangladeshi side was dismissed within the first 13 overs and the score was 34-5 but Afif Hossain played a brave knock of 72 runs to help Bangladesh in putting a respectable total on the board.

Afif was well-supported by Mehidy Hasan who scored 38 runs.

Bangladesh lost the experienced Tamim Iqbal in only the 3rd over followed by another big wicket of Shakib-al-Hasan in the next over.

Shakib got caught out for a duck at covers on an extra bouncing delivery from Rabada.

Bangladesh further lost Liton Das, Yasir Ali, and Mushfiqur Rahim in the next 9 overs and they were struggling badly on 34-5 in 13 overs.

Afif Hossain tried to rebuild the innings by putting a good partnership of 60 runs with Mahmudullah for the sixth wicket.

Mahmudullah was looking good but Tabriz Shamsi dismissed him on 25 runs to end their partnership.

Mehidy Hasan then joined Afif Hossain to build up another crucial partnership for their side.

Afif and Mehidy shared 86 runs between them for the 7th wicket and their contributions helped Bangladesh to reach a respectable total.

Afif Hossain smashed 9 fours in his excellent 72 runs knock before getting caught out by Bavuma at midwicket.

Rabada’s superb 5-wicket haul

Rabada was exceptional with the ball today against Bangladesh.

Rabada picked up 3 wickets upfront early-on to destroy the Bangladeshi batting lineup with the new ball.

In the final overs, Rabada dismissed both the set batters Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan within the gap of three deliveries to complete his magnificent 5-wicket haul.

This was the second five-wicket haul for Kagiso Rabada in one-day internationals.

While chasing, Janneman Malan and Quinton de Kock set the platform with their outstanding 86 runs opening partnership.

Quinton de Kock was more aggressive in this partnership as he batted with a strike rate of over 151.

Mehidy Hasan bowled out Malan for 26 runs to end their brilliant opening stand.

Quinton de Kock completed his half-century but he wasn’t able to convert his good start into a hundred due to an exceptional catch from Mehidy Hasan at deep mid-wicket.

De Kock scored 62 runs off just 41 balls including 2 sixes and 9 fours.

Kyle Verreynne continued the chase with skipper Bavuma.

Verreynne also scored a half-century and remained unbeaten right till the end.

Bavuma departed after scoring 37 runs but only 15 runs were left for victory at that time which were surely not going to trouble South Africa.

Verreynne scored 58 runs off 77 balls including 4 fours and 2 sixes.

South Africa chased down the target comfortably with still 12 and a half over remaining in their innings.
