Popular TV show ‘CID’ actor Dinesh Phadnis passes away due to liver damage at 57 years of age

The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of veteran actor Dinesh Phadnis, renowned for his iconic portrayal of ‘Fredericks’ in the long-running TV series CID. The 57-year-old actor breathed his last on Saturday, succumbing to multiple organ failure. Confirmed by fellow CID actor Dayanand Shetty aka ‘Daya’, who shared the heartbreaking news with a renowned media house, the actor’s demise occurred at 12.08 am.

Initially, reports surfaced suggesting a cardiac arrest as the cause, but Shetty clarified that it was, in fact, liver failure that led to Phadnis’s deteriorating health. Shetty emphasised the importance of caution when taking medications, revealing that adverse reactions to a prescribed medicine had severely impacted Phadnis’s liver. He urged people to be meticulous about their choice and intake of allopathic medicines, emphasizing the unforeseen risks associated with certain treatments.

Phadnis, a familiar face in Indian households due to his two-decade stint in CID, made a significant impact with his role as Fredericks. CID, which first aired in 1998 and ran for an impressive 20 years on Sony TV, became one of the most beloved crime shows in the country. Phadnis’s contribution to the show endeared him to fans nationwide.

Apart from his television success, Phadnis showcased his versatility by taking on supporting roles in popular films such as Super 30 and Sarfarosh. Additionally, he made a guest appearance in the widely acclaimed television series, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

The actor’s last rites were scheduled to take place at 10.30 am in Mumbai on December 5, marking the end of an era for those who admired and cherished Dinesh Phadnis for his on-screen presence and talent. As the industry and fans bid farewell, his legacy lives on through the memories created during his remarkable career.

Anant Ambani tried to lift Salman Khan during the second day of his wedding celebration. The first day went with a bang, owing to several artists who performed in the pre-wedding festivities. The second day was even more fun with several celebrities taking part and blending into the themes of the Ambanis. During the event, their singing and dancing performances have now gone viral on various social media platforms.

Akon sang ‘Chammak Chalo’, a song from the movie, ‘Ra One’, which saw Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. As Akon was singing, Salman came to the stage and started to dance to Dandiya. Anant saw the star dancing and tried to lift him. As Anant could not lift the Superstar, he called Shera’s bodyguard Salman and asked to help him lift the ‘Tiger’ superstar.

Reunion of Khan trio

As Akon sang the song, Shah Rukh, Suhana Khan, Radhika Merchant, and Salman danced together. Akon took to his Instagram handle and expressed the happiness of performing in the event. “Best pre-wedding party of the year. Got to bring my whole Indian family on stage to perform my biggest record in India. @iamsrk, @beingsalmankhan, @sukhbir_singer, and the bride and groom Anant and Radhika Merchant. Unforgettable evening,” wrote Akon on his social media handle.

On the 2nd day of the event, the stage witnessed the reunion of the Khan trio – Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan. For the first time in years, the trio came together. They danced to the songs like ‘Naatu Nattu’ from RRR, ‘Chaiyya chaiyya’ from ‘Dil Se’, ‘Jeene Ke Hain Chaar Din’ from ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and ‘Masti Ki Pathshala’ from Rang De Basanti respectively.

Nita Ambani acknowledges Radhika Merchant as ‘Ambani beti’ during her speech at pre-wedding celebration

The youngest son of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, Anant Ambani, is set to get married this July with Radhika Merchant. Prior to that, both families are going all out in the pre-wedding celebrations.

Apart from looking absolutely fabulous, the family also shared their thought and values. As Nita took the stage giving a heartfelt speech dedicated to Radhika Merchant and Anant, she addressed her soon-to-be daughter-in-law.

She said that just her first meeting with Radhika she knew she was the one for Anant as the perfect lifetime companion. Not only that, she also found another daughter sharing a similar love for dance and, her son Ananat.

Further welcoming Radhika into the family, she said, “Radhika, we welcome you with open arms as an Ambani beti. You are not just Anant’s partner, but a cherished daughter, sister, maasi, kaaki, and the light of all our lives”.

Nita praises her son

Nita also praised her son Anant for his kind heart and sweet nature. She further lauded his work on setting up the Vantara animal rescue and rehabilitation centre. “His gentle demeanour hides his strong, iron will. His grand passions are backed by his endless patience and hard work,” she added.

The Vantara animal rescue and rehabilitation centre was completely designed by Anant as he went to great lengths to make it a success. She also says that his sole focus is currently in Jamnagar. It was also the first word he learnt while growing up, even before Mumma or Papu.

Anant also delivered a delivered heartfelt speech to his parents. He thanked his parents for never leaving his side and always being there for tough times. His father Mukesh Ambani was also spotted turning emotional.

The energy they brought with them set the stage on fire with their energy, while seeming to have a great time dancing and vibing in front of everyone.
