Kane Williamson has made a huge statement on Babar Azam. The Kiwi skipper has claimed Babar to be a world-class player. “He [Babar] is a world-class player. Cricket comes with a full range of feelings and emotions and part of it is navigating each day and looking to improve,” said Williamson about Babar. The two have played a lot of cricket against each other.

Williamson was in the press conference ahead of the T20I series against Pakistan. In the arena, Kane was asked several questions including his opinion on Babar. The two batters had recently met each other ahead of the series. Kane added that Cricket is all about improving each passing day. He felt that the sport comes with a full range of emotions and feelings.

Kane felt that Babar was one of the best batters in the world. The Kiwi skipper felt that Babar might have a good series against New Zealand after a rough patch in the recent past and considered Babar a genuine threat. “He is one of the best players in the world and I am sure he will be doing that and that doesn’t change overnight. We know he is a big threat,” added Williamson.

The series between Pakistan and NZ will be crucial for both sides ahead of the T20 WC 2024. Kane felt that facing Pakistan as a team is a good opportunity for NZ to prove themselves as a team. He added that Pakistan are one of the best sides in the world across all the conditions and the formats. He added that having Pakistan in New Zealand would be a good contest.

“Pakistan is always a fantastic opportunity. They are consistently one of the best teams in the world and all conditions, so to have them have them here in our backyard and having another contest is great,” Kane added. Pakistan would be looking forward to winning the T20I series against New Zealand to gain some confidence ahead of the T20 WC 2024.
