After losing the 1st at Hyderabad from a winning position, India made a scintillating comeback in the next two tests at Visakhapatnam and Rajkot to take a considerable 2-1 lead in the series. Though India are playing in home conditions and they have an unstoppable force on their home turf this comeback from the Indian team is special as they entered the series without the services of many of their first-choice players either because of injuries or unforeseen circumstances.

In addition to it, the injuries to KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja added to their woes. It all left India with an experienced middle-order with three debuts in a span of two tests and the situation required the youngsters to step up and prove their mettle. Fortunately for Rohit Sharma and Co. the youngsters didn’t disappoint and played a significant role in the 2-1 lead.

Among all the youngsters, one who made the most of the situation is Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Mumbai batter took international cricket like fish to water and amassed 545 runs in the six innings of the series so far at an astonishing average of 109 and a strike rate of 81. It included two back-to-back double centuries in two matches which shows the youngster’s thirst for making it big.

England’s limited overs captain showered praises on Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal has garnered praise from all spheres for his amazing consistency in the series and the recent figure to join the bandwagon is England’s white-ball captain and Jaiswal’s IPL opening partner Joss Buttler. The RR opener took to social media to praise the youngster’s remarkable consistency on the biggest stage.

Having opened with him for the last three years, Buttler has been Jaiswal’s rise from close quarters and has also played an important role in the youngster’s rise in international by guiding him and providing valuable insights about power hitting during his time in the IPL. Buttler posted a story on Instagram where he wrote, “Shame he’s doing it against England but v hard not be so happy for @yashasvijaiswal28. Getting everything he deserves from his talent, hunger, and work ethic. WHAT A STAR!”
