After winning the first Test, Pakistan had another dominant start on day one of the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Sri Lanka skipper, Dimuth Karunaratne won the toss and opted to bat first. But, the decision turned out to be a horrible one as they got bundled out for just 166 runs in 48.4 overs. In reply, the Men in Green finished the day with 145 runs on the board for two wickets. But, on day two, they batted only for 10 overs and added 33 runs without losing any further wickets before rain came. 

Pakistan have managed a 12-run lead so far as Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique are still on the crease. However, due to rain, no further play happened as day two got called off. But, a video went viral where Pakistan pacer, Hasan Ali was seen enjoying the rain by sliding on the wet covers. The Pakistan Cricket also shared the video with a caption: “Making the most of the rain delay in Colombo, with @RealHa55an leading the charge #SLvPAK.”

Speaking of the video, Hasan Ali was found enjoying the rain by sliding on the wet covers on the field. While he was also seen helping the ground staff to cover the pitch fully. Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media. Even, his teammates were also seen in all smiles and clapping in joy. Speaking of Hasan Ali, he did not get a chance in the playing XI of the second Test. However, he did not even play the series opener also. He last played for Pakistan in January 2023. 

However, in the practice game against Sri Lanka Cricket President’s XI, he picked up three wickets in the first innings. Speaking of this ongoing match, Abrar Ahmed was the star with the ball as he took four wickets. Along with him, Naseem Shah grabbed three wickets while Shaheen Shah Afridi grabbed one wicket. Currently, skipper Babar is unbeaten on 28 runs off 49 balls while Sgafique is batting on 87* runs off 131 balls.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s, one of India’s greatest cricketers, has retired from international cricket. He ended a stellar career as the nation’s second-highest wicket-taker in Test history. I must say I’ve created a lot of memories alongside Rohitt and several of my teammates,” Ashwin said at the press conference.

“Obviously, there are a lot of people to thank. But, I would be failing in my duty if I didn’t thank the BCCI and the rest of my teammates. I want to name a few of them and all the coaches — Rohit, Virat, Ajinkya, and Pujara who have taken all those catches in the slips to help me get those wickets.”

Ashwin also thanked the Australian cricket team for being fierce competitors over the years.

“Also a big thank you to the Australian cricket team. They have been very fierce competitors. I have enjoyed playing alongside them.

“I won’t be taking any questions, but certainly, it’s a very emotional moment.”

Speculation about his retirement was rife after he was seen hugging former captain Virat Kohli in the dressing room at Gabba during a rain interruption on Wednesday. Ashwin and Kohli had an intense chat in the dressing room, leading to rumors on social media.

Ashwin ensured the rumors did not stay for long as he confirmed the call right after the third Test ended in a draw.
