Former Indian legendary spinner Harbhajan Singh has lashed out at Inzamam Ul Haq the former Pakistani skipper. This latest controversy erupted after Inzamam Ul Haq claimed that Harbhajan Singh had nearly converted to the Islamic faith.

The former Pakistan skipper had been in the news recently after he quit his post as the chairman of selectors. This came after the Pakistanis had a disastrous run during the ODI World Cup 2023 group phase stages.

This is not the first time in recent times that Inzamam Ul Haq has found himself in trouble over his comments. Many of the Pakistani cricket fans and experts have slammed him for his selection for the huge event in India.

Harbhajan Singh hits out at Inzamam Ul Haq –

Former Pakistan skipper Inzamam Ul Haq is in the eye of the storm for his comments aimed at Harbhajan Singh the former Indian spinner. In a video that is doing the rounds, Inzamam had said that Harbhajan Singh was close to joining the Islamic faith. An angry Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter and wrote “Yeh Kaunsa Nasha peekar baat kar raha hai? I am a proud India and proud Sikh yeh bakwas log kuch b bakte hai”

The video which is nearly two minutes long had Inzamam recounting an incident. “Maulana Tariq Jameel used to visit us every day. We had a room for Namaz. Following the prayers, he would talk to us. After a day or two, we invited Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan, and Mohammad Kaif for prayers. I noticed that 2-3 more Indian players also used to join; they won’t say the prayers but used to listen to the Maulana,”

The Former Pakistan skipper also said “Harbhajan once told me, ‘My heart says that I should agree to whatever he (Maulana) says’. I said, ‘Then follow him. What is stopping you?’ Then, he replied, ‘I see you and then I stop. Your life isn’t like that. So, it is us who are not following our religion. We are to be blamed,”

Inzamam Ul Haq is yet to make a statement on the video and the tweet from Harbhajan Singh. On Tuesday former Pakistani player Abdul Razzaq had come up with a bizarre and controversial remark on Indian star Aishwarya Rai. The comment had both the Indian and Pakistani social media users lashing out at the 43-year-old former player.
