On Day Four of the Ranchi Test between India and England, the home side has taken the game home and the series. On the first day of the game last Friday, the Three Lions won the toss and elected to bat first. It seemed like a crucial moment given the way the pitch looked before the game. Meanwhile, at Lunch, the visitors were 112/5.

The likes of Joe Root (122*), Ben Foakes (47), and Ollie Robinson (58) helped the team get to 353 runs on Day Two. In reply, the home team lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma early. However, the likes of Yashavi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill put together 82 runs for the second wicket. This partnership was broken by Shoaib Bashir. This led to a collapse as the Asian side was reduced to 177/7 late on Day Two.

At the end of the day, the team was tottering at 219/7. On Day Three, the likes of Dhruv Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav batted for an hour and put together 76 for the eighth wicket. The former scored 90 runs before falling as the 10th wicket. He added another 40 runs with debutant Akash Deep. They helped the team reach 307 all-out, allowing the European side to get a lead of only 40 runs.

India makes a comeback in the second innings to take a 3-1 lead

With a lead of only 46 runs, the Ben Stokes-led side needed to get at least something equal to the first innings total. However, the Indian spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja combined for 10 wickets with Ashwin picking his first fifer of the series.

The opposition was bowled out for 145, asking India to chase 192 runs to win the game. India has a great start as the likes of Sharma and Jaiswal put together 82 runs for the first wicket. However, the opposition managed to make a comeback with 120/5. The likes of Shubman Gill and Jurel put together an unbeaten partnership of 72 runs to win the game for the team.
