Cameron Green and Alex Carey shared 135 runs for the 6th wicket that helped Australia gather a decent total.

Cummins managed to dismiss Imam early on but Abdullah Shafique and Azhar Ali looked rock-solid to make sure Pakistan will not lose any more wickets before stumps on day 2.

Australia lost all their remaining 5 wickets in the second session after having an excellent morning session in which they scored 88 runs without losing any wicket.

The twin centurion from the first Test Imam-ul-Haq fell early for the third successive time in this series.

Pat Cummins got him LBW out for only 11 runs.

The partnership between Abdullah and Azhar.

The in-form Abdullah Shafique and Azhar Ali batted patiently after losing an early wicket.

The Australian bowlers especially the pacers bowled at good areas and got some half chances but luckily both Abdullah and Azhar survived till the end of day 2.

Abdullah Shafique is just 5 runs away from another half-century in this series while the veteran Azhar Ali is also unbeaten on 30 runs and he will be looking to score big in front of his home crowd and city.

They will continue their 70 runs stand from tomorrow and will try to add as many runs as possible in the first innings.

Green and Carey save Australia

Australia was in trouble at 206-5 when Carey and Green came to bat.

Australia started the day with their overnight score of 232-5 and the Pakistani bowlers were looking in a great touch to wrap up the Australian innings quickly but Carey and Green had other ideas.

They brilliantly negotiated the first few overs in the morning to ensure that Australia did not lose an early wicket.

Alex Carey and Cameron Green played some outstanding shots against both spinners and pacers in their crucial partnership.

They shared 135 runs for the 6th wicket to help their side cross 350 runs in the first innings.

Nauman Ali broke this partnership by dismissing Alex Carey, who got LBW out after scoring 67 runs.

Cameron Green was removed by Naseem Shah on an outstanding delivery that knocked the stumps out of the ground.

He played a crucial knock of 79 runs for his side.

Naseem and Shaheen got rid of the lower-order quickly to end the Australian batting on 391 runs in the first innings.

The two young guns of Pakistan Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi were magnificent against Australia as both of them claimed a 4-wicket haul.

Naseem Shah was the pick of the lot due to his brilliant reverse swing bowling with the old ball.

The two spinners Sajid and Nauman picked up 1 wicket each.
