Brendon McCullum reveals potential strategy of England for last 4 Tests against India
Brendon McCullum has made a huge claim on the strategy of the visiting side to beat India in the upcoming matches of the series. The coach of England’s Test team spoke about it after being asked about Shoaib Bashir, the young spinner from the visiting side, who recently faced some issues in getting a visa before joining the squad.
McCullum felt that Shoaib Bashir is similar to Tom Hartley in terms of skill sets and first-class experience. Brendon added that the dressing room welcomed him well after getting the visa and the youngster got to witness the Test win. McCullum added that England would not mind playing three spinners if the wickets turn more.
“He, again like Tom Hartley, has little first-class experience but we thought his skill could help us in here. The guys gave him a huge cheer and he witnessed the Test win. He also comes to the calculation for the next Test match. We won’t be afraid to play all spinners if the wickets will turn more,” said McCullum.

Bazz further spoke about the work ethic and dedication of Tom Hartley, who helped England to win the Test at Hyderabad. With his spell in the 2nd innings where he claimed a 7-wicket haul on debut, Hartley rattled the Indian batting lineup and ensured that the visiting side won the first Test by 28 runs.
McCullum felt that Tom is a tough character and Ben Stokes handled him well. McCullum claimed that they would not mind playing players according to the conditions. He felt that playing four spinners might be out of their comfort zone but added that they would be ready to do what it takes to win the series.
“When you see guys who are good enough and the conditions will suit them it is like horses for courses. You got to back your judgment on things like that. If you like the skillsets and the character you need to be brave with the selection call as well,” added McCullum in his statement.

Australian Media Criticizes Rohit Sharma After Crushing Defeat to Australia
Following India’s heavy loss to Australia in the first Test of the series, Australian media highlighted key concerns for the Indian team, including Rohit Sharma’s performance as captain. Pat Cummins and his team’s emphatic win by 209 runs sparked discussions about India’s bowling strategy and batting collapse.
Australian newspapers like The Age underscored Mitchell Starc’s lethal bowling display as a stark reminder of his prowess in Test cricket. Starc’s fiery spell dismantled India’s top order, a performance seen as pivotal in Australia’s dominant victory. The media also pointed out the pressure mounting on Rohit Sharma for tactical shortcomings, including field placements and decision-making under challenging circumstances.
India’s batting lineup faltered against Australia’s aggressive bowling, with only a few players resisting. Critics emphasized that the Indian team’s inability to adapt to the pink-ball conditions in Adelaide cost them dearly. The media also praised Australia for its disciplined approach, particularly the consistency of its pace attack, which Starc and Cummins led.
As the series progresses, this defeat puts India under immense pressure to bounce back, especially with the spotlight on Rohit Sharma’s leadership and the team’s resilience. Fans now await India’s response in the next Test.
