Bollywood actresses who donned the role of a gangster on-screen!
Ever since Bollywood came into existence only male actors have been playing the role of a villain on screen. But as movies evolved the meaning of villains also changed as from only male actors playing this role, it has been changed to female actors also playing the role of a gangster on screen. This began when Shekhar Kapoor’s ‘Bandit Queen’ released where the gang was only of the women.
Gangsters are no exception to Bollywood’s propensity for bringing complex characters to life on film. In addition to testing the performers, these memorable depictions also leave an impression on the audience. Nowadays, the people are loving the roles of gangsters being played by female actors.

Richa Chadha plays Bholi Punjaban, a Delhi mobster with a quick wit and a fiery demeanor, in the Fukrey trilogy. Her portrayal of Bholi Punjaban combines ambition, eccentricity, animosity, and charming charm in a fascinating way. This is a role to keep in mind because of Richa’s gutsy attitude to playing the part, which matches her own audacity. According to rumours, Sonu Punjaban, a real-life criminal, served as an inspiration for the character of Bholi Punjaban.
2. Alia Bhatt – Gangubai Kathiawadi:

She won the National Award for Best Actress because her portrayal was so engaging. The movie, which took its cue from Hussain Zaidi’s book “Mafia Queen,” charts Gangubai’s transformation from a helpless victim to a formidable opponent of exploitation.

In the television show “Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo,” Isha Talwar wowed viewers with her depiction of Bijlee, a tough bahu who runs a drug enterprise with her mother. Isha was challenged by this distinctive persona because Bijlee not only belongs to the drug cartel but also stands for the LGBTQ community. She received praise for her superb performance.
6. Radhika Madan – Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo

Isha Talwar portrayed a fierce bahu in the world of the drug mafia in “Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo,” but Radhika Madan added an original twist to the plot. The role of Shanta, a daughter who actively contributes to her mother’s drug empire, was played by Radhika. Radhika’s portrayal of Shanta contrasts sharply with her real-life persona, which elevates the quality of her performance. Shanta performs experiments to improve the quality of the medications in the show, which gives her character more nuance.
