Bangladeshi-origin author, Taslima Nasreen ruffled quite a few feathers recently.
Nasreen, who is no stranger to controversy tweeted a post on English cricketer, Moeen Ali, which she deleted later.
Nasreen tweeted, ‘”If Moeen Ali were not stuck with cricket, he would have gone to Syria to join ISIS”.
Not surprisingly, it led to a massive backlash.
England fast bowler Jofra Archer, batsman Sam Billings and Saqib Mahmood supported Moeen and attacked Nasreen over her insensitive post.
Archer even questioned her mental sanity.
Saqib Mahmood was even more caustic, calling Nasreen a ‘disgusting individual’.
Interestingly, there was no reaction from Moeen Ali who is not known to be very active on social media.
Moeen Ali is currently in India for IPL 2021 where he will be representing Royal Challengers Bangalore.
