Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal predicted his winners for the orange and the purple cap winners of the IPL 2024. The former Purple Cap winner was in an interview recently where he had a fun chat with the host and was asked some questions. One of the questions in the show was his prediction on the leading individual performers in the 17th edition of the league.

The Rajasthan Royals bowler did not hesitate to name Rashid Khan as the purple cap winner for the IPL 2024. Having won the reward in the past, Chahal knew what it takes to win the award. The star spinner felt that the absence of Mohammed Shami would mean more responsibility for Rashid in the IPL 2024. He hence named the leg spinner to be the leading wicket-taker of IPL 2024.

In the IPL 2022, Rashid was the leading wicket-taker in the league. It was the same season where RR made it to the final. There were some key performers for RR in the league which included the orange cap winner Jos Buttler and purple cap winner Chahal himself. They lost to Gujarat Titans in the final in Ahmedabad which saw a great spell of bowling from Khan.

When asked about his prediction on the orange cap, the star player named two players from his own team as the front runners to claim the Prestigious cap. Chahal claimed that Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal could be the winners of the reward. Both of them were terrific for RR in the last couple of seasons. Jaiswal, in fact, has been in serious form in the ongoing series against England.

In four Test matches, the Southpaw has scored 655 runs at an average of over 91 including two 200s and two 50s to his name. In the last season, Jaiswal scored over 600 runs at a batting average of 48, and a batting SR of over 160. Gautam Gambhir Criticized for Treatment of Ravindra Jadeja Despite Stellar All-Rounder Stats

Gautam Gambhir, a former Indian cricketer and current commentator, is under fire for his comments regarding Ravindra Jadeja’s one of India’s premier all-rounders. Fans and analysts have taken issue with Gambhir’s critique, especially in light of Ravindra Jadeja’s remarkable achievements that position him among the game’s elite players.

Ravindra Jadeja, the ICC’s No. 1-ranked all-rounder, boasts impressive statistics that surpass even some of cricket’s legends, including Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, in certain contexts. His contributions with both bat and ball have been crucial for India in all formats of the game, yet Gambhir’s recent remarks seem to downplay these feats.

Statistically, Jadeja’s consistency is unparalleled. He has maintained high averages and strike rates while excelling in bowling under pressure. Fans argue that comparing his numbers to cricket greats reveals his immense value to Indian cricket. His performances in Test matches, particularly in challenging overseas conditions, have been instrumental in India’s success.

Critics of Gambhir’s stance assert that his remarks undermine Jadeja’s legacy as an all-rounder. Social media platforms were flooded with support for Jadeja, highlighting his match-winning contributions and unmatched versatility. Fans have called for greater recognition of the all-rounder’s achievements, urging commentators like Gambhir to acknowledge his importance.
