The star spinner picked the likes of Virat Kohli, Ab De Villiers, and Sachin Tendulkar as the toughest batters he has ever faced. In an interview, Lyon was asked to pick the same. The Australian spinners revealed that he has faced several great batters in his career.

The spin bowler then named the three great batters have been the toughest he has ever bowled to. “Best player I’ve played against; that’s a very hard question. I’ve played against some of the greats of the game,” said Lyon as felt that he was up against several greats of the game. Some of them include the likes of Joe Root, Kumar Sangakkara, Hashim Amla, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Jacques Kallis and many others.

In fact, Lyon dismissed Sangakkara who was his maiden Test wicket on the very first ball he bowled in the longest format of the game. Lyon was up against several other terrific batters like Graeme Smith, Kevin Pietersen, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, and many others. But he named the likes of Kohli, De Villiers, and Tendulkar as the three best players he has bowled against.

Lyon was seen in the Sydney Cricket Ground where the fifth Test is set to take place.

Lyon faced Sachin Tendulkar in the initial part of his career in the early 2010s. the experienced spinner faced Ab De Villiers for the entire 2010s and some part of the 2000s. Against Virat, the star bowler has bowled a lot from the 2010s and continues to bowl even in the 2020s. The two would be up against each other later this year in Australia.
