WATCH: MS Dhoni celebrates friends’ birthday while sporting Yash-style beard
A video of former India skipper MS Dhoni celebrating his friend’s birthday has been going viral. In the video, his beard was thick as never seen before. It is similar to what Indian actor Yash sported in the two parts of KGF movies. In these movies, the actor first took the law in his hands and then went on to earn the gold as he wanted to fulfill his mother’s wishes in the second part.

Meanwhile, since the IPL 2023, Dhoni has been away from the action. After all, he has been retired from international cricket since August 2020. In the last three years, he has been playing only in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings.
During this year’s IPL, it was rumored that he might retire. However, after the final, the Ranchi-born said that he will take some time to make the final decision.
“Looking for an answer? Circumstantially if you see this is the best time for me to announce retirement. But the amount of love and affection that I have been shown, wherever I have been this year…I think the easy thing for me to say would be to say ‘Thank you very much’, but the tough thing for me would to work hard for nine months and come back and play at least one more season of IPL. But a lot depends on the body. It would take 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side. It’s not easy for me but the way they have shown their love and affection, that’s something that I need to do,” he said at the post-match presentation.

Australian Batter Sam Konstas Opens Up About His Exchange with Idol Virat Kohli
Australian batter Sam Konstas, who became a rising sensation during the recent Test matches in Melbourne and Sydney against India, revealed his admiration for Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli despite a heated on-field exchange.
Konstas vs. Kohli: The On-Field Clash
In the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Konstas made a memorable debut by fearlessly facing Jasprit Bumrah, smashing 34 off 60 balls, and engaging the crowd with his energy. However, tension flared during the 10th over when he found himself in a shoulder bump and verbal exchange with Kohli.
Post-Match Encounter with Kohli
After the match, the 19-year-old sought out his idol, Kohli, for a conversation. Speaking to CODE Sports, Konstas shared his admiration:
“I had a little chat after the game, telling him that I idolise him. It’s obviously a huge honour playing against him,” he said.
Konstas described the surreal experience of facing Kohli:
“When I did verse him, I was like, ‘Wow, Virat Kohli is batting.’ He has that presence. The Indian crowd chanting his name made it feel quite surreal.”
Kohli’s Encouraging Words
To Konstas’ delight, Kohli proved to be gracious and encouraging.
“He was very down to earth. A lovely person. He wished me all the best, saying hopefully I go well on the tour of Sri Lanka if I’m in,” Konstas recalled.
The young cricketer also highlighted his family’s admiration for Kohli:
“My whole family loves Virat. I’ve idolised him from a young age. He is a legend of the game.”
A Memorable Debut
Konstas’ fiery performance and his spirited interactions with Kohli have left an indelible mark on his budding career. As he looks forward to potential selection for the Sri Lanka tour, the teenager remains inspired by his idol and the lessons learned from their encounter.
Konstas’ debut shows that rivalries on the field can transform into admiration off it, leaving fans and players with lasting memories.

BCCI Faces Tough Calls on Future of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
Future of Kohli and Rohit Under Scrutiny
India’s humiliating Border-Gavaskar Trophy loss, part of a dismal streak with six defeats in eight matches, has ignited intense debates. The most pressing concern is the future of senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
The BCCI is expected to discuss the issue during its Special General Meeting on Sunday. New board secretary Devajit Saikia has reportedly been asked to deliver a “strict message” to chief selector Ajit Agarkar about solving this dilemma. The board has emphasized the need to “choose a new team” to restore India’s cricketing credibility.
Underwhelming Performances in Australia
Both Kohli and Rohit were under pressure even before the Australia tour. Kohli showed a glimpse of his old form with a century in Perth but managed just 90 more runs across other innings without a single fifty.
Rohit, on the other hand, had a disastrous series, scoring only 31 runs in five innings at an average of 6.2. He opted out of the Sydney decider, citing personal reasons. Since September, Rohit has scored just 164 runs in eight matches at an average slightly above 10.
BCCI Official’s Strong Stand
A former BCCI official, speaking to Dainik Jagran, stressed that the board must take a firm stance. He suggested that no player should consider themselves indispensable.
“The BCCI must send a strong message that no player is bigger than the game. The selection committee must act decisively and build a new team,” the official remarked.
Looking Ahead
With the ICC Champions Trophy approaching and a provisional squad submission deadline of January 12, the BCCI faces mounting pressure. India’s next Test series is scheduled for late June, during their tour of England, making this the perfect time for a strategic reset. The decisions made now could shape the team’s future trajectory.

Jasprit Bumrah’s Heroics in Border-Gavaskar Series Spark Workload Debate
Jasprit Bumrah Shines in Border-Gavaskar Series
Jasprit Bumrah’s exceptional performance in the 2024/25 Border-Gavaskar series stood out, despite India’s overall disappointing campaign. With 32 wickets in five matches, including three five-wicket hauls, he claimed the Player of the Series award. This marked the highest wickets taken by an Indian bowler in Australia and an all-time best for an Indian seamer in a Test series.
However, Bumrah’s heroic efforts came at a cost. He missed the final innings of the Sydney Test due to a back injury. Having bowled 151.2 overs across the series, including 53.2 overs in one match, concerns about his workload surfaced. Discussions followed regarding whether India’s team management could have handled Bumrah better.
Balwinder Sandhu Criticizes Workload Concerns
Former Indian pacer Balwinder Sandhu dismissed the workload management theory, calling it unnecessary. He argued that bowling 15 to 20 overs per innings should not be an issue for professional cricketers.
“Bumrah bowled an average of 16 overs per innings. That’s not a big deal,” Sandhu told Times of India. “Workload management is an Australian concept. Cricketers need to listen to their bodies, not external theories.”
Sandhu questioned whether Bumrah is fit for Test cricket if he cannot consistently bowl 20 overs in an innings. “If you can’t bowl 20 overs, focus on T20s, where four overs are enough. Representing India in Tests requires physical strength and stamina,” he added.
The debate underscores the growing divide in modern cricket regarding balancing player fitness with team needs. For Bumrah, his outstanding series may be remembered for both its brilliance and the challenges it posed.
