WATCH: MCG crowd dances with Hasan Ali during second Test

Published

Hasan Ali

Hasan Ali recreated the stretch movement of Merv Hughes of 1988 in the Benson and Hedges Trophy that took place more than 35 years ago. Back then, the crowd had gotten along with the act of the former Australian pacer and imitated his moves. Similarly, the crowd at the MCG has again imitated the move of Hasan who seemed to stretch his body initially.

The pacer from Pakistan realized that the crowd was mimicking his action. To entertain the crowd, he started dancing. The crowd soon acknowledged the moves from Hasan as everyone behind him started dancing with him. It was pure enjoyment from the home crowd as they did not worry about the consequences of the match and enjoyed the present.

Watch the video of the event here:

The act of Hasan and the crowd went viral on social media. The fans online enjoyed the incident too. It was a good phase in the play as both sides seemed to be in the game. Pakistan had Australia at 16/4 at one stage. In turn, Australia recovered from the collapse, thanks to a brilliant knock from Mitchell Marsh in the middle. The commentators loved it as well on air.

Recreation of stretch movement in recent past

It is not the first time that the players and fans have tried to recreate it. Many players have done it in the recent past. The crowd got into the act every time and enjoyed the moment. The likes of David Warner, Kagiso Rabada and Scott Boland have tried to do the same in the past and the MCG crowd has gotten into the act. It is fun to watch when the players and crowd get into such acts.

Meanwhile, Australia surged ahead in the game and continued the milk the runs. The home side was helped by the crowd that supported them to give their best. Despite giving Australia a low score at one point, Pakistan failed to continue the good work they had done. The bowlers were attacked by Marsh and Smith as Australia continued their domination in the game.
