Talking about the match, India, opting to bat first, asserted dominance from the start, with the captain’s aggressive play setting the tone as he scored 47 runs off just 29 balls. Later, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli built a monumental partnership. Kohli surpassed former legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most ODI centuries with his 50th ODI hundred, and with Shreyas Iyer’s power-hitting, they reached an imposing total of 397.

In the 2nd innings, Mohammed Shami’s excellent seam bowling in the powerplay removed both Kiwi openers Devon Conway and in-form Rachin Ravindra. Despite the early setbacks, a valiant 181-run stand between Daryl Mitchell and skipper Kane Williamson, New Zealand fought back.

India’s fielding lapses added pressure, but Rohit introduced Shami in the middle overs and he redeemed with crucial breakthroughs. Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah picked vital wickets, and Shami continued to slay as he dismissed Mitchell who smashed a wonderful century. Shami finished the match with a seven-fer, sealing India’s victory. Sudurpaschim Royals, batting first, set a competitive total of 184 for nine wickets, led by Saif Zaib and Binod Bhandari. Zaib scored a solid 69 runs, while Bhandari added a crucial 41.
