India opening batter Shubman Gill has posted his 2023 calendar year resolutions on his official Instagram account. According to him, he promised to achieve some specific goals for the ongoing year. This year is about to end in the next few hours. Meanwhile, in the social media post, Gill wanted to hit the most hundred for India. On the batting front, the right-hander hit a hundred each across all formats including the IPL.

However, his form during the ODI World Cup 2023 wasn’t at his best. Apart from this, the 2018 U19 World Cup winner wanted to win the World Cup. However, after winning 10 games, the team lost the final against Australia. Meanwhile, Gill posted the photo of the resolutions on social media ahead of the New Year 2024.

“Exactly a year ago, I put it out into the universe.

“With 2023 coming to an end, the year has been full of experiences, some great fun and other great learnings.

“The end of the year didn’t go as planned, but I can proudly say we came ever so close to our goals, giving everything we had. The coming year brings its own challenges and opportunities.

“Hopefully, we’ll get closer to our goals in 2024. I hope all of you find love, joy, and strength in everything you do ❤️,” Gill captioned the post.

I think Shubman Gill plays too aggressively in Test Cricket: Sunil Gavaskar

Meanwhile, after the first Test against South Africa, India has been getting a lot of criticism. The same has been the case with Gill

“I think he is playing a bit too aggressively in Test cricket. There is a slight difference when you play Test cricket when compared to T20I and ODI cricket. The difference is in the ball.

“The red ball moves a little more than the white ball in the air and off the pitch as well. It bounces a little more too. He should keep that in mind,” Gavaskar told Star Sports.

Mohammad Rizwan has come under heavy fire for his performance during Pakistan’s loss to South Africa in a high-stakes match. Critics described his innings as lackluster, accusing him of playing a “shameless” and “criminal” knock that failed to meet the demands of the situation. His inability to accelerate scoring when required drew ire from fans and analysts alike, with many questioning his intent and decision-making under pressure.

While Rizwan’s cautious approach ensured some stability, it proved inadequate against South Africa’s aggressive game plan. His inability to shift gears in critical moments ultimately hurt Pakistan’s chances, and his performance sparked a broader debate about his role and strategy in the team’s batting order. Some commentators were particularly scathing, questioning how Rizwan could reflect on his effort given the circumstances.

The incident has added to the scrutiny of Pakistan’s overall performance in the tournament, with many demanding better strategies and execution from key players. Rizwan, regarded as a pivotal figure in the lineup, now faces the challenge of responding to the criticism and delivering under pressure in future matches.
