‘School k bachchon se zyada ghatiya bahane hai ye’ – Fans react as Gautam Gambhir claims ‘Anti-India’ slogans for his middle-finger reaction

Published

on

Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir was quick to react to the viral video of him showing the middle finger. He has claimed that some Pakistani people in the stands were chanting anti-India slogans. “The crowd was shouting anti-India slogs, as an Indian, I can’t take anyone saying this about my country hence reacted this way – what you see on social media isn’t always the correct picture,” Gambhir told Sports Tak.

Notably, the two-time World Cup winner was seen showing a middle finger. In the video going viral, some fans can be heard chanting, Kohli-Kohli in the background. After this, the left-hander stopped for a bit and flayed his middle finger. The incident happened during the ongoing India vs Nepal game in the Asia Cup 2023. At this point, the game has been interrupted by the rain in Pallekele.

Gautam Gambhir’s got into trouble for contrasting statements

In the last few months, the former KKR skipper has been vocal about individual praising in Indian cricket. He spoke about how only Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni get the credit for ODI WC wins in 1983 and 2011 respectively. The duo led India in these World Cups.

“If you keep talking about one person day in and day out, it eventually becomes a brand. That is how it was in 1983. Why start from Dhoni? It started in 1983. When India won the first World Cup, it was all about Kapil Dev. When we won in 2007 and 2011, it was Dhoni. Who created that? None of the players did. Nor did the BCCI. Have the news channels and broadcasters ever spoken about Indian cricket?” he had asked.

However, in another interview, Gautam spoke about how Yuvraj Singh doesn’t get enough credit for the 2011 WC win.

“It’s unfortunate that when we talk about the 2007 and 2011 World Cups, we don’t take Yuvraj Singh’s name. Why not? It’s only and only marketing and PR and portraying one individual as the biggest and everyone else as smaller than him,” he had said. “We have been told who won us the 2007 and 2011 World Cups [but] it was not one individual it was the entire team. No one individual can win a big tournament. If that was the case, India would’ve had 5-10 World Cups.”

Ryan Reynolds

The Marvel fandom is buzzing with speculation about Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine. Fans believe the movie contains references to actor-director Justin Baldoni. These alleged digs add fuel to the ongoing tension between Baldoni and Blake Lively.

Nicepool’s Connection to Justin Baldoni

One scene in the movie caught the attention of fans. Reynolds plays Nicepool, a variant of Deadpool with exaggerated politeness. Nicepool introduces Ladypool (voiced by Lively) and says, “Oh my goodness, wait til you’ve seen Ladypool. She is gorgeous. She just had a baby too and [you] can’t even tell.” Deadpool responds, “I don’t think you’re supposed to say that.” Nicepool then replies, “That’s OK. I identify as a feminist.”

Fans have linked this character to Baldoni, who is known for advocating “undefining masculinity.” A deleted scene adds to the theory. Nicepool says, “I’d be fighting alongside you, but my calling is to one day start a podcast that monetizes the women’s movement.”

Behind-the-Scenes Tensions

Reports suggest tensions between Baldoni and Lively during It Ends With Us. Allegations against Baldoni include harsh criticism of Lively’s post-pregnancy body. He reportedly demanded she lose weight within weeks after childbirth. Baldoni has denied all allegations.

Adding to the drama, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against Reynolds. The lawsuit claims Reynolds berated him during a production meeting, calling the encounter “traumatic.”

Fan Interpretations

Fans dissected Nicepool’s portrayal and found parallels with Baldoni. TikTok user @americastia noted, “It’s not even subtle.” Fans also highlighted Deadpool & Wolverine’s release weeks before It Ends With Us, adding context to the perceived shade.

A Complicated Fallout

The fallout between Reynolds, Lively, and Baldoni highlights personal and professional tensions. Fans remain divided over whether the references were intentional or coincidental. The drama surrounding these stars shows no signs of fading soon.
