‘Salar ka salwar fat gaya lagta hai’ – Fans react as Kamaal R Khan praises Dunki’s box office collection on first Friday over Salaar

Kamaal R Khan

Popular film critic Kamaal R Khan aka KRK has tweeted about the box office clash between Dunki and Salaar. The two giant movies hit the box office at the end of the year. Going by numbers, Salaar seems to be the winner given the collection it has got till now in just 2 days of release. Compared to it, Dunki seems to be struggling to mint numbers at the box office.

However, Kamaal R Khan seems to be not bothered by the numbers. Taking to X, he stated that Dunki is the clear winner without any proof of it. The statement of KRK seems to be exaggerated in support of Bollywood cinema. Going by the box office numbers, on the first day of its release, Salaar collected the money Dunki has been able to collect in 3 days till now.

Kamaal however was least worried about it and claimed the audience to have rejected Salaar. Talking about both the movies on X, Kamaal wrote “Today #Dunki has got huge jump all over India because of 2 reasons. 1) SRK is the hero of the film. 2) Salaar is the worst film.” The tweet of Kamaal did not go well with the fans, who gave him the reality check.

Shah Rukh Khan won hearts with his acting

2023 has undoubtedly been the year of Shah Rukh Khan. The ‘Bollywood Badshah’ did not have a genuine hit in more than 4 years. It was to change with the release of Pathaan, which marked the first-ever movie of SRK to reach the club of INR 1000 crores. In his very next release, SRK outnumbered himself with yet another movie, Jawan, to gross over INR 1000 crores.

In the latest release, SRK has shined again as a performer in Dunki. The audience have unanimously praised the actor for his performance, although the movie did not meet the expectations of some. Throughout the year, it has been a phenomenon of the star performer on the big screen. The experienced actor has proved again why he is one of the most bankable stars in the Indian movie industry today.

Here’s how the fans reacted to the news –

“Intelligent Stubbornness”: Manoj Bajpayee on Chasing Dreams and Staying Relevant

How does the son of a farmer from a small village in Bihar rise to stardom in the bustling and competitive world of Mumbai’s film industry? For Manoj Bajpayee, the answer lies in being “intelligently stubborn.”

The versatile actor, known for roles ranging from Bhiku Mhatre in Satya to Srikant Tiwari in The Family Man, attributes his success to his ability to navigate challenging circumstances without losing sight of his dreams. Speaking to PTI, Bajpayee reflected on his journey, which began in the village of Belwa and led to a celebrated career in both mainstream and arthouse cinema.

“You have to be intelligently stubborn and audacious,” Bajpayee shared. “Circumstances and situations will test you constantly and make you doubt yourself. But commitment to your dreams is what keeps you going.”

After his breakthrough role in Ram Gopal Varma’s 1998 underworld drama Satya, Bajpayee was inundated with offers to play similar roles. However, he was determined not to be typecast. “I was stubborn about not getting boxed into one type of role. The industry didn’t know what else to offer me, so they offered money. But I refused. I knew that if I became a villain, I might never escape that image,” he explained.

Bajpayee’s calculated defiance set him apart. Inspired by the careers of other actors like Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Kay Kay Menon, he charted a unique path, taking on diverse roles in films such as Shool, Gangs of Wasseypur, Aligarh, and Sonchiriya. His adaptability extended to digital platforms, with standout performances in Gulmohar and The Family Man.

Growing up as one of six siblings, Bajpayee dreamed of acting despite his family’s limited means. At 17, he moved to Delhi, pursued education to honor his mother’s wishes, and immersed himself in theatre before heading to Mumbai. His persistence bore fruit with a small role in Drohkaal (1994) and recognition in Bandit Queen. His big break came with Satya, which not only launched his career but also inspired countless others from Bihar to chase their dreams.

“It wasn’t just my village; many young people from Bihar gained the courage to step out of their comfort zones after Satya. It showed them that if I could do it, they could too,” he said.

Despite his success, Bajpayee remains connected to his roots in Belwa. “When I was there, I wanted to leave. Now that I’ve achieved my dreams, I feel drawn back.”

Bajpayee’s upcoming project, Despatch, where he plays investigative journalist Joy Bag, will premiere on ZEE5 on December 13. His journey, defined by resilience and intelligent stubbornness, continues to inspire dreamers across the country.
