Kanye West 'escorted' out of Skechers office

Kanye West was “escorted” by two executives out of the Skechers corporate.

Kanye West turned up unannounced at the Skechers corporate offices and was “escorted” out by two executives, the shoe company stated in a statement on Wednesday.

The latest racist and anti-Semitic remarks made by West, also known as Ye, have grabbed headlines and cost him some lucrative design deals. At the Los Angeles offices, he showed there “unannounced and without invitation,” according to Skechers, who also stated that he was “engaged in unauthorized filming.”

This month, the hip-hop musician made an appearance at a fashion show in Paris sporting a shirt bearing the slogan “White Lives Matter,” which was developed as a response to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Few days after, he was restricted from Twitter and Instagram for threatening to “Go death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE,” using a reference to US military readiness.

“Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West,” the company said Wednesday.

“We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate anti-Semitism or any other form of hate speech.”

“Considering Ye was engaged in unauthorized filming, two Skechers executives escorted him and his party from the building after a brief conversation,” it added.

On Tuesday, the world’s largest sportswear firm, Adidas, said that it was ending its collaboration with West. Later that day, the American clothing company, Gap, stated that it was removing West’s items “immediately.” Balenciaga, a Parisian fashion label, severed ties with West last week itself.

One of the major talent agencies in Hollywood, CAA, said on Monday that it was ditching West, while the film and TV producer MRC announced that it was shelving a documentary about the artist that had already been completed.

This week, Kim Kardashian, the ex-wife of Kanye West, published a statement on social media decrying hate speech without mentioning her ex-husband.

All this controversy is the reason why Kanye West’s wax figure has been removed from Madame Tussauds in London.

The 45-year-old West has been open about his battles with mental health concerns.

Mumbai road accidents

A four-year-old boy tragically lost his life in Mumbai after being hit by a speeding car driven by a 19-year-old. The accident occurred in the Wadala area while the child was playing on the road, police reported.

This heartbreaking incident follows another fatal road accident earlier this month in Mumbai. On December 9, a driver of a civic-operated electric bus lost control in Kurla, causing a catastrophic crash. The accident resulted in seven deaths, 42 injuries, and damage to over 20 vehicles.

The electric bus incident, captured on CCTV, has heightened public concern about road safety in Mumbai. Police arrested the driver, Sanjay More, and charged him with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Concerns Over Road Safety in Maharashtra
Maharashtra is among the states with the highest number of road accidents in India, as per a report by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. From 2018 to 2022, the state recorded 66,370 road accident deaths, ranking third nationwide after Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, addressing the Parliament winter session, revealed alarming statistics about road accidents in India. Every year, road accidents claim approximately 1,78,000 lives, with 60 percent of victims aged between 18 and 34.

These incidents highlight the urgent need for stricter road safety measures in Mumbai and Maharashtra. With an increasing number of young lives lost, both authorities and citizens must work towards safer roads. Enhanced driver training, stricter penalties, and public awareness campaigns are critical to addressing this issue.
