As per many fans, the former batting star has taken a veiled dig at Mumbai Indians over the captaincy row. Hardik Pandya was named the skipper of the side after his return to the franchise replacing Rohit Sharma.

Kieron Pollard bitter over Rohit Sharma’s removal?

Rohit Sharma’s removal from the captaincy of Mumbai Indians hasn’t gone down well with Kieron Pollard. The former West Indies batter’s quote on social media has now become a talking point amongst the fans.

Under Rohit Sharma, the men in blue and gold had won five IPL titles and one Champions League in 2013. Taking over the captaincy from Ricky Ponting, the dashing batter has made Mumbai Indians a huge unit.

Hardik Pandya returned to the Mumbai Indians team after Gujarat agreed to a huge trade deal. As per sources one of Pandya’s terms to return to Mumbai was to be made the skipper of the side. It has been three years since MI last won the IPL title.

As per further reports, the entire conversation began just before the 2023 ODI World Cup. It was communicated to Rohit Sharma about the change in plans. The 36-year-old had also warmed up to the idea of playing under Hardik Pandya.

Mumbai Indians had given Hardik Pandya his first IPL break when they picked ahead of IPL 2015 season. With Mumbai Indians, the 30-year-old won four IPL titles before being released in 2021.

Gujarat Titans picked Hardik Pandya as the first draft ahead of the IPL 2022 season. Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill were the other two players. In their debut season, Gujarat Titans won the IPL title beating Rajasthan Royals in the final.

Last year Gujarat had made it to the finals before losing to Chennai Super Kings. Ahead of the new season there is massive expectation from Mumbai Indians to win their sixth title. Gerald Coetzee, Dilshan Madushanka, and Mohammad Nabi are some of the players who were picked during the IPL Auction 2024.

Nepal Premier League Final

Nepal Premier League Final! Janakpur Bolts clinched the inaugural Nepal Premier League title by defeating Sudurpaschim Royals in a thrilling final. The Bolts showcased remarkable resilience, chasing down a target of 187 runs with five wickets in hand at the TU International Cricket Ground.

Sudurpaschim Royals, batting first, set a competitive total of 184 for nine wickets, led by Saif Zaib and Binod Bhandari. Zaib scored a solid 69 runs, while Bhandari added a crucial 41. However, their middle order failed to capitalize on a strong start, succumbing to disciplined bowling from Janakpur’s attack.

Kishor Mahato and Mohammad Mohisin starred with the ball for Janakpur, each claiming three wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi bowled an exceptional spell, conceding just 15 runs, including a maiden over. Their efforts restricted Sudurpaschim from posting a more imposing total.

His innings anchored the chase, despite early pressure from Sudurpaschim’s bowlers. Aasif Sheikh, the Janakpur captain, played a vital supporting role, ensuring a composed finish.
