The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has unveiled grand plans to celebrate former India captain and the modern-day great Virat Kohli’s birthday during India’s 8th ODI World Cup encounter against South Africa which will take place at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 5.

According to RevSportz, to make the occasion truly special, CAB will distribute an impressive 70,000 masks of the cricketing maestro to the fans in attendance. The celebration will feature not only the Kohli masks but also a captivating laser show that promises to light up the Eden Gardens, along with a spectacular fireworks display to add extra flair to the event. This celebration is a fitting tribute to one of the modern cricketing legends and adds an extra layer of excitement to the World Cup match.

Virat Kohli is in red-hot form

Kohli has been in sublime form lately, emerging as a consistent saviour for the Indian team. One notable instance was during a match against Australia, where India was in dire straits at 2/3. Kohli took charge and guided his team to a remarkable victory. Following this impressive performance, he went on to strike a magnificent century against Bangladesh and narrowly missed reaching the coveted three-figure mark in the subsequent game against New Zealand.

With an impressive tally of 48 ODI centuries, Kohli stands just one ton away from matching the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Cricket experts are abuzz with the belief that Kohli has a golden opportunity to secure his 49th century, and perhaps draw level with the iconic Tendulkar, during the South Africa match on his birthday at Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens Stadium.

India’s performance in the ongoing World Cup has been commendable, with six victories under their belt. Their next challenge is against Sri Lanka on November 2 in Mumbai. However, the team will have to make do without the services of the dynamic all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, who is currently recuperating from an ankle injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). As the cricketing world watches in anticipation, all eyes will be on Kohli as he strives to make his mark and continue his extraordinary journey in the world of cricket.
