In 2019, a photograph featuring 5 renowned Indian cricket sensations took the internet by storm. The picture included Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal. However, the image depicted Pant with a mysterious hand resting on his shoulder, sparking curiosity and speculation among fans and the media. Now, Agarwal has come forward to shed light on the truth behind this enigmatic picture.

The viral photo, initially seen as a candid moment between 5 Indian cricketers, left fans puzzled due to the unseen hand on Pant‘s shoulder. Speculations ranged from a ghostly presence to a playful prank by a fellow cricketer. But, Agarwal recently disclosed that the mystery hand belonged to none other than him only.

“After years of extensive research, debates, and countless conspiracy theories, let the nation finally know: it is MY hand on @RishabhPant17 shoulder. Ps: any and all other claims are misleading and not true,” Mayank tweeted on X (formerly) with an emoji.

Rishabh Pant is still recovering from injury

It has been 4 years since the image was shared by star allrounder Hardik, however, it surfaced on the internet in almost every year without any reason. But Agarwal has not put all the speculations down with his much-needed revelation. However, he didn’t provide any proof that it was his hand but looking at the picture, it is quite believable that it was Agarwal’s hand.

Talking about Pant, he got injured last year in December during a horrific car accident in Roorkee after which Pant had to remain out of action for a long time. The left-handed batter is still recovering and is expected to make his return next year. Pant missed the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is also set to miss the upcoming ODI World Cup.

On the other hand, Agarwal is running out of India’s Test squad. He was also tried in the ODI format by the Indian team management but surprisingly the official has now completely ignored him and now he is unlikely to make a comeback.
