As the stage set for a thrilling run chase at Visakhapatnam, veteran England pacer James Anderson shared insights into coach Brendon McCullum’s audacious message to the team. Despite the challenging circumstances posed by Shubman Gill’s exceptional century, Anderson remains optimistic about England’s chances.

The 41-year-old pacer revealed that India was cautious despite having a big lead and failed to handle the pressure. He also said that English coach Brendon McCullum had said that visitors can chase even 600 runs. “I think the nerves were there to see today, the way they batted, they didn’t know how many was enough. They were quite cautious, even when they had a big lead,” said Anderson after the close of play.

“The chat last night from the coach (Brendon McCullum) was that if they get 600, we were going to go for it. It makes it very clear to everyone that we will try to do it tomorrow. I know there are 180 overs left in the game, but we will try to do it in 60 or 70”, he further added.

“He wanted to go out”, James Anderson praised Rehan Ahmed

Further speaking about Rehan Ahmed’s batting skills Anderson said, “That’s the way we play, and we saw that tonight with Rehan (Ahmed) going out and playing his shots. He wanted to get out there and chase those runs down, even tonight.”

“We have set our stall out, tomorrow will be no different, we will play the same way we have (played) the last two years. Whether we win or lose, It’s not relevant because we are extremely competitive and want to win every game we play, but we want to play in a certain way,” said James Anderson.

It’s worth noting that India concluded their second innings at 255 all out, setting a formidable target of 399 runs for England. As the day concluded, England stood at 67-1, with Zak Crawley and Rehan Ahmed at the crease, instilling hope for the visitors.

However, the road ahead is monumental, as no touring team has successfully chased down more than 276 runs to win a Test match in India. As England gears up for an ambitious pursuit, the stage is set for a thrilling day of cricket, marked by determination, skill, and a pursuit of history.

Here is how fans react to James Anderson’s comments:

Gautam Gambhir Criticized for Treatment of Ravindra Jadeja Despite Stellar All-Rounder Stats

Gautam Gambhir, a former Indian cricketer and current commentator, is under fire for his comments regarding Ravindra Jadeja’s one of India’s premier all-rounders. Fans and analysts have taken issue with Gambhir’s critique, especially in light of Ravindra Jadeja’s remarkable achievements that position him among the game’s elite players.

Ravindra Jadeja, the ICC’s No. 1-ranked all-rounder, boasts impressive statistics that surpass even some of cricket’s legends, including Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, in certain contexts. His contributions with both bat and ball have been crucial for India in all formats of the game, yet Gambhir’s recent remarks seem to downplay these feats.

Statistically, Jadeja’s consistency is unparalleled. He has maintained high averages and strike rates while excelling in bowling under pressure. Fans argue that comparing his numbers to cricket greats reveals his immense value to Indian cricket. His performances in Test matches, particularly in challenging overseas conditions, have been instrumental in India’s success.
