Stand-in India skipper Suryakumar Yadav has hit his maiden T20I hundred in South Africa and against Proteas in the ongoing third T20I. His first three T20I hundreds came between 2022 and 2023. He has one each in England (2022), New Zealand (2022) and India (2023). Meanwhile, in the ongoing game, the home team won the toss and chose to bowl first. They had a poor start as Indian openers scored 29 runs in two overs.

However, Keshav Maharaj took two back-to-back wickets that brought Yadav to the crease. Looking for a partnership, he and Yashasvi Jaiswal (60) put together 113 runs for the third wicket after losing two wickets for 29 runs. While the latter scored another T20I fifty, Yadav went to get the three-digit mark despite batting in the middle-order. They helped the team reach 201/7 even though the team lost a few wickets in the end overs.

Talking about the game, the visitors, India have taken four wickets for 42 runs. The ball is turning and the Proteas need a further 136 runs in 66 balls with 66/4 on the board in nine overs at the time of writing.

This is how Twitter reacted

Notably, Yadav has been coming off a poor ODI World Cup 2023 including the innings he played in the final against Australia. He was under criticism for his inability to convert his T20I performances into the ODI game. Meanwhile, at the time of writing, he has been out of the game due to an ankle injury while fielding.

Ravindra Jadeja is leading the team in SKY’s absence and it will be interesting to see whether Yadav can play his further part in the game.

Nepal Premier League Final! Janakpur Bolts clinched the inaugural Nepal Premier League title by defeating Sudurpaschim Royals in a thrilling final. The Bolts showcased remarkable resilience, chasing down a target of 187 runs with five wickets in hand at the TU International Cricket Ground.

Sudurpaschim Royals, batting first, set a competitive total of 184 for nine wickets, led by Saif Zaib and Binod Bhandari. Zaib scored a solid 69 runs, while Bhandari added a crucial 41. However, their middle order failed to capitalize on a strong start, succumbing to disciplined bowling from Janakpur’s attack.

Kishor Mahato and Mohammad Mohisin starred with the ball for Janakpur, each claiming three wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi bowled an exceptional spell, conceding just 15 runs, including a maiden over. Their efforts restricted Sudurpaschim from posting a more imposing total.
