India skipper Rohit Sharma has been slapped with three over-speeding challans. This happened when he was on the way to join the Indian team ahead of their ODI World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh. Both teams will play each other on October 19 in Pune. As reported by Pune Mirror, a traffic police officer expressed his concern over the India skipper traveling via personal vehicle during the tournament.

He suggested that the 36-year-old must travel in a team bus with the police security around. Not to forget, on December 30 last year, India wicketkeeper batter managed to escape a near-fatal accident that has kept him out of the game so far. He is expected to return only in January 2024. Meanwhile, talking about Sharma, he was driving a Lamborghini having a number plate of his highest ODI score ‘264’.

I have taken a leaf out of Chris Gayle: Rohit Sharma

Meanwhile, against Afghanistan last week, the right-hander took apart the opposition, Chasing a mere total of 272, he hit 131 runs and went past Chris Gayle in terms of number of sixes across format in international cricket

“Universe Boss is Universe Boss,” he said. “I have taken a leaf out of his book. Over the years, we have seen him, such a six-hitting machine he is wherever he plays.

“We both wear the same jersey – No. 45. I am sure he is happy about it because jersey No. 45 has done it [broken his record].”

“When I started playing this game, I never thought I would be able to hit sixes like that, let alone that many sixes. Obviously, a lot of work has gone into it over the years. So I am quite happy with the work I have.

“I am the sort of person who will not be satisfied. I want to continue to do what I have been doing. My focus is on that. Yeah, it is a small happy moment for me.”
