Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is in the form of his life which is also helping the team as the ODI World Cup 2023 is already on a roll and the team is currently standing on the podium. Rohit registered a duck in India’s first match of the tournament which was against Australia, however, after that, he never looked back.

Due to his brilliant batting performance in the last 2 matches of the ODI World Cup, the right-handed batter jumped 5 positions up and is currently the 6th ranked batter in the ODI format. In addition to that, Rohit also outplaced the former India captain Virat Kohli in the ODI rankings for the first time in his career. Kohli is currently sitting at the 9th position in the rankings.

The 36-year-old batter can rise high in the rankings if he performs well in the upcoming matches. India will be facing Bangladesh on October 18 in Pune and considering the form Rohit is having currently, he can play another big knock which will help him to climb up in the rankings.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both are in form

Rohit smashed a brilliant century against the Netherlands which came off just 63 balls and ended up scoring 131 runs which included 16 fours and 5 sixes. He also batted incredibly against Pakistan on October 14 and smashed 86 runs off just 63 deliveries with 6 fours and as many sixes.

Talking about Kohli, the modern-day great started the tournament with a brilliant knock of 85 runs against Australia followed by an amazing half-century against Afghanistan. However, he couldn’t carry his form against Pakistan and got dismissed for just 16 runs. If he had scored against the Men in Green, he could’ve been in a better position in the rankings. However, the tournament has just started and both Rohit and Kohli will get multiple opportunities to score big in future.
