India faced an embarrassing 6-wicket loss against India in the 2nd ODI on Saturday, July 29. Interestingly, the Indian team management decided to give rest to the senior players of the team Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. But the decision didn’t work as the Indian batting order failed horribly in the first innings.

Meanwhile, a video is getting viral on social media in which Kohli can be seen getting frustrated during the match while sitting on the bench. The veteran batter was spotted shaking his head in utter disbelief by looking at the team’s performance. However, these are just speculations about his disappointment but India’s performance in the 2nd ODI could be one of the reasons behind it.

Playing Kohli and Rohit would have not given us any answers: Rahul Dravid

India’s head coach Rahul Dravid talked about experimenting with players and said that this was their last chance to try some players as they are running out of time considering the upcoming Asia Cup and ODI World Cup. He said that they have only 2-3 matches left before the Asia Cup and playing Kohli and Rohit would’ve not given them any answers.

“Honestly, this was our last chance to try some of our players. We have got four of our players who are injured and are in the NCA. With days to go for the Asia Cup and then the World Cup, we are kind of running out of time in a lot of ways. And we are hoping that some of them will be for the Asia Cup and the World Cup but we can’t take those chances.

We have to try out other people and give them chances so that in the worst-case scenario they at least have game time behind them. It also gives us the opportunity to make some decisions on players. Honestly in a series like this with 2-3 matches to go before the Asia Cup, playing Kohli and Rohit would have not given us any answers. But with the injuries we have in the NCA and some uncertainty around them, we just wanted to give others a chance,” Dravid was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
