Former and current India skippers, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been rested for the ongoing second ODI against the West Indies. Both players have been replaced by Sanju Samson and Axar Patel. Notably, both, Sharma and Kohli played in the first ODI but asked the other players to chase down the target. They were asked to chase down a mere total of 115 runs.

Bowling first, Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets for just six runs in three overs with two maidens. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets while Hardik Pandya, Mukesh Kumar, and Shardul Thakur took one wicket each. In reply, Ishan Kishan scored a fifty but the team lost five wickets. Sharma came out to bat at number seven while Kohli didn’t bat at all.

In the end, the Men In Blue won by five wickets. This performance was criticized by the fans. Meanwhile, in this game, both players have been rested. All-rounder, Pandya is leading the side.

Talking about the game, the home team, West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl first. For the visitors, Kishan and Shubman Gill are opening the batting like in the last game. Both players started steadily in the first few overs. However, both players have been gaining momentum.

Kishan has scored two back-to-back fifties. On the other hand, Gill scored 34 off 49 balls before getting out to Gudakesh Motie. At the time of writing, India have scored 90/1 in 16.5 overs.
